Was giving my diamond black 250 a wash this morning and noticed that near both the rear clusters the paint has chipped away down to the primer! As you can imagine I'm not best pleased about this! Has anyone else experienced this in the the same area and does anyone know if Renaults paint and body work have a lifetime warranty??
Read the warranty docs. Only covered for three years. I will speak to renault and see if we can come to some kind of agreement to get it sorted.
Read the french forum, loads have the same issue mate most solved by adjusting or fitting shims. worth a try with renault uk. If you find the thread on meganers.fr and sent it to them it might help
It says the paintwork is only covered for 3 years for any cars registered before 2011 in the warranty docs.
Mine has this too.. Took it in last week and they took pics not heard back yet but I expect it to be covered
That's a shame! Awful design from renault if this is happening, i'd have thought they may have bought a mod out for the lights to stop this happening!
hi all had this happen to mine last year took it in to dealers they took pictures it had taken them a month to come back and said no but could repair it for £400 and its only one side so i removed light and touched it in with paint and put small spacer sim on back of light job done £20
£400??? That is ludicrous! How much did you argue with them about it and was it still under warranty?
my car only had 2 months on the warranty left pushed them a bit but they said it could have been done by being pushed onto the body of the car while being cleaned or pushed by someone (bollox) but now more cars have the same problem they my put their hands up and do something about it the reason i was told it would cost £400 is that it had to be full quarter panel
Well just got back from smiths renault in Peterborough who were very helpful. They will be sending a warranty claim off to renault. I won't be holding my breath though as it seems as though the rear quarter panel on the drivers side has been sprayed!
Renault will look at it as a fault with the light not the paintwork so if its under 3 or 4 year warranty period it should be fine. but if its over you will have no chance !
Did mine today, just sanded down the areas that were in contact with the paint, now have a tiny gap between light and paint all round so should be safe must say ive had the car less than a year and it had already started rubbing/marking at certain parts so would advise others to get it looked at even as preventative measure others on the french forum have fit a washer to push them out a bit. Ill keep an eye on mine and if anymore marks ill washer them.
Yer, when you take them out the edges are actually quite sharp too which doesnt help so i sanded them smooth and then just down enough to leave enough clearance all round.
Do you have a link to the French forum with the washer details. ? Don't really want to touch the lights until Renault come back to me first
