  1. Hi all,

    Yep, another brake pad thread......

I'm currently in the process off uprating my discs to the Cazan Racing 330mm discs and also want a new set of pads changing at the same time.

So, I'm just wondering if there is an all round best pad to run with the Cazan Racing discs?

    Cheers, Seb.

  2. I'm in the same boat... Wanted a better bite with running ds 2500 and HC discs. My Cazan 330 are getting fitted tuesday and sticking to 2500 as I really don't want stupid brake dust that come with the ds 1.11.

    ill see how they go

I'm running EBC Bluestuff on my 330s at the moment and they are working very well. They should also work well on track given the weight of the Megane. Dust is light (ish) and easy the clean off with Megs hot rims. :-)

  4. I fancy trying the Blue stuff, heard good things about them. I definitely wont be using RC6 on a road car again. Epic stopping power but have destroyed my alloys and paint

  5. I do a few trackdays a year and also do motorway driving so ideally need a pad that will bite from cold and not fade on track. Not really too bothered about the dust, although the less the better!

    What about the DS1.11?

And heard good reviews on the Performance Friction pads?

  6. You know my vote for PFC pads mate. Great from cold and on track. Worth the money over other pads.

  7. The general consensus on RUK say Mintex m1144.

They are definitely worth a pop and you can't complain at the price!

DS1.11 will be going in mine for the next track outing, so I have no feedback on them yet. I've used PFC01 and PFC97 in other cars in the past and the braking is exceptional, especially with PFC01 but with them being carbon metallic, be prepared for rapid disc wear, dust and disc particles rusting to wheels and all down the side of your car! I wore out a brand new set of discs and pads in just 3 days at the Nurburgring and when i got back the wheel paint was destroyed and I had to clean the side of the car with acid wheel cleaner and a pan scrub! Rule of thumb with high wear carbon metallic pads, wash everything as quick as possible after use and avoid getting them wet!

1144's are probably close to the OE pads you get on these cars and other 200+ BHP cars. They work well as a track pad on lighter and lower power cars such as classic Minis and MGs but on a Megane, I'm not so sure. I'm running Mintex F Series (F6) on my Focus and they are excellent however you need proper brake cooling ducts and a spare £550 for a full set!!!

    Cheers,
    Jonny

  9. Which PFC ones have you got again Dave?

Yeah really interested to see what the DS1.11 are like, although heard bad reviews on the DS2500/3000 with the pads leaving pad deposits etc on the discs!

The issue with DS2500/3000 is more to do with the type of braking rather than the pad itself. They are not very tolerant to braking scenarios that they weren't designed for.

  11. Ahhhh I see.

What brake fluid does everyone use? I've heard good reviews on ATE Super Blue.

  12. Hi,

IMO, Ferodo's DS UNO are a great choice you must concider. Great stop power, a bit of dust but easily off, and great for track use. I found not much disc wear if i compare them to PFC 01... They have ruined my Brembo's 2 parts disc kit!

Use them at the moment with PFC's discs, Motul RBF660 brake fluid.

    Seb.

  13. Instead of starting a new thread myself. I have heard loads of chat on the yellow and blue stuff pads on here for the Meganes. Im willing to give them a try as I have heard EBC have revised all their friction materials and are actually quite reputable now.

Where is everyone buying their sets from? I have seen front and rear sets of yellow stuff for 100 and 43 respectively on eBay, I thought this was reasonable but are others getting them for cheaper? And are the 225 rear callipers the same as the r26 230?
