Bain of my life at the moment is my wipers on my r26.. They don't work on intermittent at all that's my first gripe, this morning peeing down with rain wanted to go shopping and none of my wipers would work at all....brilliant.NOT !!!!. Got back from shopping in the wife's car, though I would have a look again at my wiper blades, guess what worked fine apart from on intermittent, so there either on all the time or not at all and for some reason it winds me up. Something doesn't work correctly is it the sensor by the windscreen or is my stalk on its way out ?? Any ideas guys and girls......
Can't you turn off the auto wipers and then you're left with normal, variable speed intermittent wiping? Worth a try.
My brother has just had the same problems with his 225 cup. It ended up being the scuttle drains were blocked, so it filled with water. Seizing the linkages and destroying the wiper motor. He found that out after he went and bought a new rotary switch (stalks) at £163 which didn't fix the problem
\ its under the plastic bit at the bottom of the windscreen. if you have a look for threads REF water in foot wells it all links to the same thing. next time your in the car open up the cubby holes in the floor and feel for water. to repair. wipers off (might need a tool), scuttle panel off and then clear out the 2 drain holes either side. i used a bit of piping with a air duster on the end of it and the amount of shite that came out was unreal! if your interior is wet I'm afraid its whole interior out jobbie as the carpet is rubber backed and can't breathe, the foam under neath will be soaking! good luck if you want any tips PM me. done mine a few months ago
Brilliant will give it a go tomorrow, will let you know how it goes, tool is it any shed kind of tool or a tool made for this job ?
Tool is a wiper removal tool, ie: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Dut...UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item2a32ceb294 although that's very cheap Chinese rubbish and will probably break the first time it's used, but you get the idea. To be honest, even if your floor is wet, if your wipers work on constant speed then I don't think clearing your scuttle drain will any any difference. To turn the auto wipers off you need to hold the stalk end button in for a few seconds with the ignition on but the engine stopped I think.
It's worth a try without the tool. Spray so wd on it and give it a wiggle and they might come off. Will take 2 secs to get too. Remove black cap and then there is a nut, undo that and give it a spra and wiggle. You might get lucky
Good old pull..... Lovely will give it a go see if I get anywhere, cheers. Will try it later on, will let you know how I get on.
Yeah had a go need the tool really was giving it a good pull but didn't want to chance it any more. Ha ha. Removal tool arriving next week fingers crossed they work till then. Will keep you posted mate.
We'll, got the windscreen wipers off today, opened up the motor to the windscreen wipers all looked fine cleaned the area up. All was moving fine when dismantled put it back together windscreen wipers back on worked fine.. Took car for a spin absolutely nothing just stopping after moving an inch or so. At the end of my tether May possible sell it the way I'm feeling at the moment..........Shit.........rant over.......
