Stage 1 Remap finally done.

  1. So finally bit the bullet and went to see Paul at RS Tuning for a stage 1 yesterday, wasn't the best of starts to the day though because when we arrived the police had cordoned off the end of the road due to an Astra deciding to park into 5+ cars causing a massive pile up (literally!) outside the unit (check their Facebook page for pics). Finally got past the police and got the car in the workshop. Met Paul, Andy and Specky outside they were a top bunch of blokes btw.

    Got the car on to the rollers and was a bit nervous that the car might be a dud, but was as surprised as Paul when on it first (before the remap) run it pulled a respectable 248bhp but the decat and intake would of helped. So the final results were 284bhp and 290ft/lb so couldn't be happier with it, the car pulls a lot harder to the redline and doesn't run out of puff. Plus the forge recirc give's off a nice little chirp which is quite infectious.

    Thanks again to Paul, his service was excellent and can see why everyone rates him so highly.

    Cracking results there, I'm in next week and this is the 3rd great result from a stage 1 map, wondering should I not bother with stage 2 now :confused:

    I saw the pic of the pill up on Saturday, what was the person in the Astra doing?!
     
  6. I was shocked with the results but happy obviously. I'm only gonna go to stage 2 eventually as the injectors are nearly at max, I think he said 98%.

    No one really knows, i think the police were struggling to work out how and way the guy crashed. Was a weird one.
     
  7. Why don't you fit some 630 injectors and leave it at stage 1, would be safer
     
  8. That does seem the sensible choice. It will also be more reliable as well I suppose.
     
  9. If yours are running at 98% you only have to have a dirty injector then you could be in trouble, fit 630s and they will only be running at 50/55% or somewhere round there, so yes a lot safer.
    Just my opinion mind, most ignore me.

    What mods do you have?

    I'll have Milltek decat and backbox with a uprated panel filter when i go for mine next month.
     
  11. I've already been quoted for the injectors so I'll speak to Paul next week sometime.
    The only mods on it are full Milltek inc decat and cone airfilter, but it had a new fuel pump not long ago as the other failed so that might of help aswell.
