Wheel sealant

  1. What do people use in terms of wheel sealants?
I am getting my second set of wheels refurbished and want to give them some protection.
I might add that these are my winter wheels and will be matt black!

Has any one used Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour and how easy is it to apply?

    Thanks

  2. G5 would be a good option. Alternatively Car Pro Dlux might also be a possibility. G techniq products are usually easily to apply so just follow instructions and im sure there won't be an issue.

  3. Planet polish wheel & seal is very good and at a great price

  4. Thanks guys will take a look at these options too.

  5. C5, easy on, lasts for ages.

Where is the best/cheapest place for C5?

  7. FK1000P for me, won't last as long as the likes of C5 DLUX etc but is dirt cheap and I use it to seal my exhaust tips and bodywork in the winter. Pot will probably out live me

  8. FK1000P ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ exactly what he said, ive just bought C5 and sonax rim shiled for other peoples cars , mum dads etc thats good but only last about 10 washes

  9. Seems to be much of a muchness, i have some cashback so if i do get it would be from cleayourcar.co.uk unless someone on here can give us a good deal?

  10. I find Elite Car Care the cheapest 9/10

  11. Are you saying the C5 only lasts 10 washes or FK1000P? Just watched some Youtube vids; looks good; kind of wish i haddn't just bought a big bottle of AF Tough Coat!

  12. Cheers

  13. optimum optiseal for me

  14. Fk1000 is my favorite

Also have Wolf Rimshield which is very good

  15. Cheers guys, so much choice!

  16. Up to you mate, C5 will last longer approx 12 months. But FK1000p will last around 6 months, the tin is MASSIVE, £18 and is so easy to apply. Can use it on plastics, glass, metal .. everything lol will look good on your white car as well, should leave a nice crisp reflection for approx 6months. And could use Toughcoat as a top up for protection

  17. That's a very good suggestion. Wheels will be switched between summer and winter so only really need 6 months between applications. And seeing as it seems to go on almost any surface... We have a winner lol

  18. I use poorboys wheel sealant did mine with one coat in December and they still bead after washing now. I love it. My wheels are satin black.

  19. I like Chemical Guys wheel guard, seems to hold up nicely.

Effectively though wheels are just painted so you can use wax you'd use on your paintwork. Collinite or Finishkare would last pretty well on wheels.

  20. I applied 3 coats of PB wheel sealant to my matte black alloys. Didn't affect the finish at all! Can't comment on durability yet though.

  21. Always used C5 but it can be a bit fussy and marr easily on glossy paints. Fk1000 as said above is also great for the money.
