What should I put on the rear of my R26? I have XP8 in the front which are epic, but I made the mistake of putting Yellowstuff pads in the rear as I didn't want anything to aggressive, and they are crap...chewing up my disks and groaning after 1 high speed stop. I was thinking DS2500. Where should I be buying the pads from? cheers
Oh shit, i have just fitted yellow stuff pads in the rear of mine, not turned a wheel yet so don't know what they are like, but if what you say is correct, should i remove them and send them back ???? and what do we fit
honestly..crap....I should have known better. I had the fitted to the wifes puma and they ate the disks, while fading easily. I had a new set of rear disks fitted only last year, and I have noticed a fkn lip already forming. They are no better than standard, with the added bonus of high disk wear.
Sounds like standard brembo's for me then, at least you have more choice having an r26, 225 choice is crap, £80 down the drain then
Yellowstuff works fine in the MK3 with XP8 and 10's up front. I had some PF97's in this year but i wouldn't recommend them at all, they have ruined my discs. Ill be going for some RS29's i think this year to suit either the XP10 or XP20
yep..its like they are made from 60 grit!...and as you say £80 for a set!..worst buy ever for the meg. And yet red stuff worked brilliant on my Integra Dc2.
I'm surprised at that, Yellowstuff is a mild compound, I ran them as they lasted longer than OEM's by far and only cost 50 quid.
Well my rear disc's are not new, but okay, bit of a lip but not knackered, so will give these a go and see what happens as i don't think i can return them. Watch this space (as they say)
I had the Yellowstuff at the rear for a long time, never had a problem with them but they didn't last long on track , now I always use the Ferodo DS2500 at the rear and they last a long time, very happy with them..In the front I had : oem Ferodo , Ferodo DS2500, Pagid RS29, Endless MX72 ,Dixcel Z compound, EBC Yellow, Brembo HP2000, Project Mu HC CS and Endless CC43 circuit compound , for me Endless CC43 is by far the best I ever had , my car is mostly used at the Nurburgring..
I am going to get myself a set of endless pads when i am over later in the year, Paul (r26man) swears by them, i did Email them but no response.
I've got XP8 in front and DS2500 in the rear and it works well. I was thinking of trying PF97's just for a change but won't now after reading Jamie's post. I would recommend buying from http://www.roadtrackraceparts.com/ always great service and super fast delivery.
do they groan after hard braking from speed?. both the standard and yellowstuff did this after 1 or 2 high speed stops.
