R26 Tyre time

  1. Time has come to replace my Michelin cup 2 tyres ! They have been fantastic and lasted well ! 3 track days and daily use have been great ! What can I get now that will be as good as the weather gets colder and wetter ?

  4. Would these be good for the odd track day too ?

  5. Depends how wet it is but generally no. I would just go for a summer road tyre that will obviously have decent wet weather performance what with deep tread yet might survive a few laps if the sidewall is stiff enough. Yokohama 105 is my next tyre for that very job when I have killed off the NS2Rs.

  6. Not sure you'll find anything with as good dry grip but I've just got a set of contiforcecontact's (continentals track day tyre) and although I doubt they'd give as much dry grip they may give better wet grip. Last time I looked they weren't much more than 100£ each in 18's.

I haven't tried them on track yet but dry braking on the road is excellent.

Hope to get on track next week and have a thread in the tyre section which I will update.
