Afternoon all! Was thinking of using TDF to remap my 250. Has anyone used them or know who's map they use? Any info would be good!!!
Hi, 99% sure they use paul from RS tuning's maps. They allways had a glowing rep until it transpired that Bigash (from cliosport) who used to use them regularly for his track clio got fleeced for 1000's with work they said had been done but hadn't, or bodged to a really bad standard!
I would just go to RS Tuning as Paul will be able to give a better map for it and fine tune it a little for you vehicle.
Allways the RSTuner Fastchip option if you just want a generic stage 1 map? Paul at RS tuning does his own version too. Allthough you've got engine dynamics and MWM motorsport near you both of which have pretty good reps from what i hear (havent used MWM motorsport personally)
Some things happened with the company and the attitude to private work wasn't always the best but you felt like you was in very capable hands, my 2 experiences were absolutely fine, expensive but fine. TDF don't really make there Money doing remaps on road cars as such they were or are involved in a lot of other things.
But yeah they do use Paul's map, and on my old 225 it was fine tuned to my car, it's entirely up to you I'd personally just go to rs tuning for the experience.
Didn't think mwm were going anymore? I know they changed from jms iirc but last time I looked I'm sure I couldn't find anything.
I think their still going, still see them on cliosport posting and they fixed someones cam package from k-tec at the start of this month! Like i said i havent personally used them just heard good things about them (mainly on cliosport) but i assume their still running
MWM are still going, Mike Woodford had nothing to do with JMS by the way. I still use him regularly for work on my R26.
TDF are too busy doing race car support. If you can get booked in then you'll be in capable hands but don't expect any after sales support/warranty if you have a problem. Getting hold of them is impossible at times, no fault of their own they are usually abroad track testing.
exactly this, when you are there, matt has all the time in the world for you. His knowledge is fantastic. I arranged a group buy there and all went really smooth and all parties were chuffed!
He's got a Facebook page with contact details if you search for Michael Woodford Motorsport. JMS wasn't sold to Mike, all Mike did was take on the rent for the unit.
Used these on a couple of occasions, took it to them as car was down on power. Was told they had fixed problem and that it was a broken boost valve, but they didnt have time to put it on rolling road. Took it to my friends vag tuning business and low and behold was still down on power, mate found it was a broken knock sensor which had probably been broken at last service (done at tdf) Certainly wont be going back to tdf.
That's unfortunate Steve. I used them many times a few years back to build two ITB'd clios for me, one being a completely custom made 197 and I found the workmanship faultless. As far as i knew they had stopped doing road car work a year ago to concentrate on their expanding motorsport side.
