Pre wash left to dwell for 3 minutes then rinsed:

Then washed with britemax shampoo and a flexipads wash pad:

Rinsed off and pulled into the garage:

Then clay barred, quite alot of contamination came off:

    Then masked up:

Then had a look over the paintwork:

    Paint depth measurements were taken:

With the paint depth known it was time to settle on a combination that would removal the least amount of clear coat but also leave the finish perfect, I settled on a medium polish and pad combination and stepped up a grade on localised scratches:

Note the scratch in the centre of the vent:

Rotary with extension used for awkward areas:

  12. Liquid these threads are amazing, and the attention to detail in this in unbelievable as usual, the key at the end!!!!!! - I was refreshing this one for the updates while you were posting it  - would be one of the cars I'd get if money was no object hands down, and being able to see it like this in every detail is almost like seeing it in the flesh - so thanks again for sharing.

Can't believe the fire extinguisher has an alcantara cover for it - its like a tea cosy.

  13. Great results bud. Have you ever used Tardis ? Or just clay only I'm not too sure what to go for ?

Thanks, it's best to use both really, tardis is great for removal of tar spots but won't get all the surface contamination off like a clay bar will.

  16. Thought you'd been busy mate as you've gone quiet. That looks pretty bloody amazing. Nice buffing buddy!

  17. I want one!! Great work again Ed.

  18. Wow! Amazing work, these are one of my favourite cars ever

  19. my dream car. god i love it

  20. Amazing work as always Ed - gtechniq still going strong, well at least the paint looks great after a simple wash anyway!

just reminded me i needed some more detailing spray, glass cleaner and shampoo - ECP conveniently doing 12% off until tomorrow so picks up some bits on the cheap!

  21. Cracking job as usual, your wor is always amazing.

The car isn't too bad either

  26. Absolutely mega Ed, fantastic as always

A shame the owner let such a beautiful car get into that condition, considering it relatively new!

  27. Out of interest what sort odd money does a full detail like this cost. Can pm me if preferred. Thanks! It looks brilliant btw.

  28. Yep I'm interested too I could do with my R26 being detailed

  29. Worth every penny lads Ed's skills are now legendary. Mine still beads up and looks stunning nearly a year on.

  30. Brilliant finish on a stunning car.

I've been out in one of these at Knockhill years ago and I still talk about it now. The noise they make is unreal but for me the most impressive thing about it was the braking power, the harnesses are such a necessity.

    Thanks Andy.

  32. In the owners defence it is 11 years old and black is a very unforgiving colour. The work Ed has done should make it easier to look after from now on.

  33. Out of interest, what was the reason for going straight to clay bar and missing out de-tar/de-iron?

  34. Bloody Nora!!!
    Amazing!!

  35. Liquidf1

    Liquidf1 Forum Trader

The car was sprayed with iron max and rinsed but didn't show enough contamination to picture. The car wasn't de tarred with a spray due to the rubbers and other bits being old and rather costly so that was left and clay was used.

  36. Oh I see, fair enough!

  37. Great work as always mate. Almost time for mine...almost...

  38. Mines booked in with Ed for its preChristmas preSale big wash n brush up.

  39. I'm not washing mine purposely as I know it sets Eds OCD antenna alarm off...
