275 Tyre Pressure Monitors

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by NotaDiesel!!!, Oct 25, 2018.

  1. Just got a 275 Cup-S on 19's.

Most of my previous cars I usually get another set of wheels & tyres &change over on the winter either due to tyre type or just to protect nice wheels etc.

I assume my new wheels will need tyre pressure monitors?

Can I just swap wheels over?

Do they have to be coded or relearn?

How do they know what corner they are on? Is the reader in the wheelarch?

  2. The sensors will sort themselves out just put any wheel anywhere on the car and the car picks it up in the first minutes of driving.

  3. You can put wheels/tyres/valves on that don’t have pressure monitors. I have just done this. After about 10 minutes just get a notice come up on the dash saying tyre pressure monitors absent. Carry on as normal.

  4. Was I reading that this would result in MOT failure?

Not an issue I guess if they were track day wheels? Or Winters when your MOT is in Sept.
