I wanted to do a Trackday in August but I'm far too busy at work. I'm doing Thruxton in September and October though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm doing Trruxton on the 8th of September and the 10th of October. I drove it quite a few years ago on an experience day, it's a fast circuit. Goodwood is the closest circuit to me followed by Thruxton, annoyingly Goodwood don't do that many Trackdays Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would love to do Goodwood too but will have to wait until next year. I will see about the 10 Oct.. .Will be at Silverstone on 2nd so gives me a bit of a gap to change consumables. I like the look of your steering wheel so keen to change mine
I did Goodwood a while back in my merc but really want to do it in the Megane. The steering wheel has been a great addition especially being smaller, it makes it feel more like a racer. For me a big part of building the car is about the feel of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Mikey, it's a beast on track.......I've still got a long list of stuff I want to do to it though, I just need the funds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had a cracking day at Truxton on Friday, it started out wet so had to tip toe around as there was a fair bit of standing water. It started to dry before lunch but complex was still slippery. After lunch the track was dry and it could be attacked full on, had a great battle with an mx5, integra dc5 and a mk3 Megane. The mx5 buckled under the pressure after a couple of laps and span then the integra had to let us go eventually after having a moment going into the chicane [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's a great track isn't it! Both times I've been me and others found the MX5's are far too slow for such a quick track! Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
Well unfortunately I’ve decided to sell the beast, I’ve sold my C63 and bought a Caterham R400 to use on track and weekend blasts. I would like to keep the megane but I can’t afford to keep it I’ve setup a for sale thread on here but for some reason it won’t let me reply to it or add any photos which is frustrating.
Yeah sure it was carbon lookalike ABS which I got from plays kool online, you can buy it elsewhere but it was cheaper from them. I made a template out of cardboard first to make sure the fit was right then drilled out some holes in the door to take rivnuts so I could use bolts to hold the door card in place. I got hold of some black aluminium handles from Demon Tweeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah that’s right I wanted to make it handle as well as possible before thinking about adding more power plus there’s always the worry that if you start adding more power you wear things out quicker especially doing a lot of track days. Also I didn’t feel it needed it because I could overtake or be as quick as a lot of higher powered cars due to the cornering speeds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
