Hi from Derbyshire 275

  1. Hi everyone,
My name is Isaac, I run a French car specialist garage with my dad,
I have a 2016 275 Sportnav with cup chassis, I have found some very useful info on here, (software update regarding knock sensor!)
It broke down after 1300 miles, the clutch pipe to the slave cylinder failed!?!?
Renault derby provided me with horrendous service, they broke my diagnostic plug cover and my battery tray when carrying out the warranty work! Stay well clear!! Software update will be done by Renault Nottingham who are RS specialists, will report how this goes!
    Thanks everyone

  2. Hi Isaac, welcome along.

Looks like you've been unlucky there. My 275 has been back to the garage once in 18 months for the 12k service where they changed a speaker and un-squeaked the front seat. That's been it - faultless otherwise.

I guess you're getting them to fix the faults they've caused?

  3. Hi Xanda73,
Because I am a mechanic they have agreed to send me the replacement parts that they have broken and I will replace them myself, we are VAT registered so warranty won't be affected.
Interesting tip, I have Renault Clip diagnostic and discovered that I had 2 faults in the car saying "Left & Right front tweeters open circuit" I flicked the covers off on the dashboard and there were no tweeters there! They are very cheap to buy and easy to fit so I bought them from Renault and did them myself, stereo quality is much better now!
Had my car on a dyno this morning and produced 255bhp!! I am hoping the update will rectify the over-sensitive knock sensor issue and allow it to run full power!
    Thanks for your reply,
    Isaac

  4. How can they send the car out without checking the fault codes or without speakers fitted? The door speakers aren't full range so it will have sounded awful.

I'm sure you did, but I presume that power figure was in sport or race mode?

What did it make in normal mode, if you tried that?

  5. That wasn't the only thing I found! The breather pipe going to the intake pipe wasn't connected at first! The coil pack wiring wasn't clipped in properly either.
I think it's because my car hasn't got the arkarmys upgraded speakers so maybe mine wasn't supposed to have them, the wires were clipped into a plastic piece that can be removed, I'd check yours you may not have them too!
It was done in sport mode with ESC off, couldn't check normal mode as the ESC would interfere with only the front wheels turning. My car doesn't have R.S monitor I haven't researched it much yet but I'm pretty sure you can't retrofit it! I had to snap mine up whatever the spec as it was one of the last ones and everything else about it was just what I wanted, it was on a Bristol street special offer for 20k with delivery miles.
The 275 models are officially supposed to have 271bhp so I will see if it gets anywhere near this figure post software update.

  6. I believe you can retrofit the RS monitor since it's just a built in fancy obd readout.

  7. Slightly off topic, what's your garage called and where is it Lighty?
