  7. Booked my R26 in with Chris at EFI Parts for a custom remap in April. Looking forward to seeing how his map compares to the KTR map that's currently on it. Also looking forward to having a fully working fuel gauge again as KTR never mapped the 630cc injectors in correctly...

  8. Gearbox fully refurbed with new bearings and seals and reground synchros, new DMF & clutch and slave cylinder & pilot bearing, complete refurb of brake calipers including sand blasted and powder-coated in orange, new brake pistons and seales all round, oil service, new wishbones, swivel hub bearing changed, PF z rated front pads, new ARB powerflex bushes and rear axel poweflex bushes,
New engine mounts including gearbox mount, and lower torque mount powerflex insert (red ones)
New PS4 all round, new accesory belt and tensioner + idler pulley

All done over the last 4 weeks and car now ready to do another 160k miles (unless body gives up)

  11. Had a stone chip in my windscreen repaired. Not quite so glamorous lol

  12. Treated the Meg to 2 front tyres. Michelin PS4S at £360+. Feels so much better than Avons with 1.9mm tread lol.

  13. Cleaned the car and put the track wheels on for the first time.

  18. After the palaver I had yesterday with my swivel bearings on the R26, I thought I’d try and do something a little more productive.

As it was still up on axle stands, I replaced my lower engine mount with a standard febi part......wish I’d have got a polyurethane insert for it though.....It feels like there’s too much engine movement when coming on/off throttle and the new mount has only made a negligible difference. (Already done the gearbox mount but the top mount and upper stabiliser still to do).

I still wasn’t happy with the last couple of days efforts so I decided it was finally time to replace my PATHETIC horn.

I’ve not pipped at any knobheads for almost a year ha ha ha - It was just too embarrassing! [emoji85]

So, I’d picked one up from the scrappy a while back.

    0ce0a7b713555ece344992e30032448b.jpg

I was very impressed with how easy the bumper was to remove. It was a bit fiddly to get back on but still straightforward.

I was concerned when I realised that my meg had a double horn and the one from the scrapyard (std spec meg, few years older) was a single.

Anyway, it swapped over without any problem and is waaaaaaay better!

    Watch out, knobheads!

I use a satin black rattle can on the areas I can’t get to come up.
I’m gradually working my way through mine after previous owner’s years of neglect.
